EXCERPT
   

The dragon Ladon had one hundred heads and two hundred eyes but he couldn’t see very well. In fact, he saw everything in black and white and gray. Suddenly, the air around one of his heads filled with bands of color—red, orange, yellow, green, blue,indigo and violet. Sliding down the rainbow straight toward him was a beautiful young girl! This must be the one Hera wanted him to eat.
    “I’m Ladon,” he said. “I’m supposed to eat you but…”
    “But what?” asked Iole.
    “I’d rather marry you,” said Ladon. 
     Iole laughed. “You have too many heads,” she said. 
    “I could eat you if you prefer,” said Ladon…”
